Blogging Step by Step Course Reaches 25,000 Students

Blogging Step-by-Step

When I created Blogging Step-by-Step in 2021, I knew I wanted to create a blogging course that was different as well as more comprehensive than other courses that were available.

I wanted to create something with honest and reliable information that would take people by the hand and walk them through the process of starting and building a blog, without making it all sound more complicated than it needs to be.

What I didn’t know was just how many people would eventually take the course.

As of August 2026, Blogging Step-by-Step has officially reached 25,000 students.

Twenty-five Thousand! That number is still a little hard for me to wrap my head around.

I have been blogging for almost 30 years, and I’ve reached a lot of milestones during that time. But knowing that 25,000 people have enrolled in a course I created to help people become successful bloggers is something I am incredibly proud of.

WHY I CREATED BLOGGING STEP-BY-STEP:

I created my first website in October, 1996 when I was a 17 year-old college student.

Back then, blogging as we know it today didn’t really exist. There was no WordPress. There were no blogging courses. There were no Facebook groups for bloggers to join, or YouTube tutorials showing you how to build a website, or thousands of articles explaining how to make money online.

There were a lot of books available, so you pretty much had to sit down and read the books and learn how to create a website using HTML. You had to use common sense and figure things out for yourself. And that is exactly what I did.

As the years went by, I built multiple websites, discovered affiliate marketing, learned how to generate traffic, and eventually turned my blogging empire into a seven-figure business.

When I finally made the decision to create a blogging course, it was because a lot of things were bothering me.

People who were completely new to blogging were being overwhelmed with information. Much of it was outdated, misleading or just flat out NOT TRUE!

A lot of bloggers who found their lack of knowledge made it impossible for them to earn any money online decided the only way for them to make any money was to sell courses.

Suddenly, everyone started creating a lot of very generic, sub-standard courses on blogging with whatever little knowledge they had… YIKES! 🫨

These courses contain ineffective and obsolete methods and/or strategies that haven’t worked for years. These are things are often sourced on YouTube and being touted by some unethical content creators whose only motive is to increase watch time.

They also include miscellaneous information they find in Facebook groups from people who know even less than they do.

This brings me to another important point…

BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU TAKE ADVICE FROM!

I often browse some of the Facebook Groups to see what is going on… what sort of questions people are asking… and see if I can offer some helpful suggestions.

OMG! I cannot believe all the misinformation being shared in some of the groups!

Keep in mind, the majority of people in blogging groups are newbies who are just finding their way, the same way you are.

They have gotten information here and there and often share it in the groups.

Some of the information being shared by commenters is in NO way accurate! I try to correct them whenever I come across some of their ridiculous comments, but I cannot be everywhere.

That is one of the reasons I created Blogging Step-by-Step. I wanted to provide people with information they could trust… as well as methods and strategies that actually work.

THE PURPOSE OF BLOGGING STEP-BY-STEP IS RIGHT THERE IN THE NAME:

Blogging does NOT have to be complicated! The purpose of Blogging Step-by-Step has always been right there in the name.

It is a course that you can literally follow Step-by-Step. From deciding on a niche, to deciding on a name, registering that name with a Domain Registrar, obtaining inexpensive hosting from a reliable Web Host, and sitting down to start creating your blog.

Everything is as easy as Start Here… Complete Step 1… Then Move on to Step 2… etc.

You don’t need to learn everything there is to learn on your first day, or even in your first week or month. You have complete lifetime access to the course so you are able to build your blog at your own pace.

You don’t need to understand every aspect of SEO before you publish your first article, nor do you need to have your entire blogging business mapped out before you begin.

What you DO need is to build a solid foundation. Once you have that foundation, you can bulld your blog into whatever you want it to be.

That is the philosophy behind the course, and I think it’s one of the reasons it has resonated with so many students.

FROM ONE ASPIRING BLOGGER TO 25,000 STUDENTS:

When I think about 25,000 students, I don’t really think about it as a number. I think about 25,000 individuals who decided they wanted to try something new.

Some wanted to build a business… Some wanted to create an additional source of income. Some wanted to turn a hobby or passion into something bigger… Others simply wanted a place on the Internet to call their own.

All kinds of people want to start blogging for all kinds of different reasons. And every aspring blogger has to start in exactly the same place: at the beginning.

That is what makes this milestone especially meaningful to me.

I have had the opportunity to take nearly three decades of experience and use it to help people who are standing where I once stood… looking at the Internet and wondering what all might be possible.

BLOGGING HAS CHANGED A LOT SINCE 1996:

Sometimes I think about what the 17 year-old version of me would think about all of this. When I created my first website in 1996, I certainly never anticipated that it would eventually become a multi-million dollar blogging empire.

I didn’t really have any great master plan. I had a plan for a blog I wanted to create about college life, since that is what my life revolved around at that time.

As time went on, I realized something very important. A website was not just a place to publish information. It could actually be a business… a very lucrative business!

I used affiliate programs from the very beginning. And, because I didn’t have money for advertising I had to find creative ways to promote my websites for free.

Those early lessons became the foundation for much of what I would do over the next several decades.

The technology has changed dramatically since then, although the fundamentals haven’t really changed that much.

You still need to create something that your audience will be interested in, and you still need to get those people to your website.

And… if you want your blog to become a business, you need to be able to turn that audience into revenue. This is why it is extremely important to earn the trust of your visitors. You want them to feel comfortable purchasing the various things you recommend to them.

These principles worked for me many years ago, and they still work today.

TO MY 25,000 STUDENTS – THANK YOU!

Reaching 25,000 students wouldn’t have happened without every person who decided to give Blogging Step-by-Step a chance.

So, most of all, this post is a thank-you. Thank you to everyone who has followed my work over the years.

And, thank you to every one of you who may or may not have been familiar with who I am but, nevertheless trusted in me and chose to purchase the course.

Thank you to all of you who have recommended the course to your friends, relatives and others you met online.

Thank you to the students who sent me messages telling me about their first blog posts, their first visitors and their first big traffic month.

Thank you to those of you who have shared your excitement when you received your first affiliate commission, or had your first $1000 month, or your first $5,000 month.

Also, a very special thank you to all of my amazing affiliates. I couldn’t have reached these numbers without you.

Teaching blogging has given me the opportunity to share lessons that took me years to learn. That is something I never take for granted.

and… we’re just getting started:

I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and one thing I’ve learned is that the Internet never stands still.

Blogging continues to evolve, Search engines change, Social media changes, Technology changes, AI is changing the way people create and consume information.

But, there is still tremendous opportunity for people who are willing to build something of value.

There will always be another algorithm change, another new platform, and another shiny new object and new strategies promising overnight success.

But, keep in mind… lasting businesses are rarely built overnight!

They are built one decision, one piece of content, one visitor, and one day at a time. That is how I built mine… and that is how you should build yours for lasting success.

Helping other people begin that journey is exactly why I created Blogging Step-by-Step.

Twenty-five thousand students later.. I’m very glad I did.

Here’s to the next 25,000.
