Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and spend some time reading some of the blog posts here. You will gain an understanding of where to start.. and how to move forward in your desire to become another of the bloggers making money from home.

MAKING MONEY WITH A BLOG:

So.. you are doing your daily social media surfing when you come upon a well-known blogger unboxing a new digital camera that costs more than your monthly mortgage payment. And.. you wonder “How Do Bloggers Make Money?“

It all comes down to treating your blog as a business. You get up every morning and go to work just like everyone else. The only difference is instead of going to work for someone else.. you are working for yourself in the comfort of your own home.

You spend 8 hours a day doing all the things that will make your blog a success. That means learning all about SEO, doing keyword research, writing new SEO-optimized blog posts on a regular basis, discovering new opportunities to gain backlinks to your site, creating pins for Pinterest, and a lot more.

A blogger’s success will also depend on what kind of content they publish, who their audience is and how much time and effort they’re willing to put into their blogging business.

In this article, we’ll explore some of the most common ways bloggers make money, including affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, ad revenue, and more — so read on!

TOP 5 WAYS MOST BLOGGERS MAKE MONEY:

You should know upfront that making money from blogging isn’t always guaranteed. Blogging does not necessarily provide a predictable income. Bloggers don’t get paid any sort of salary as you would in a regular job, so it’s not like they have a set amount of money coming in every month.

Some weeks a blogger might make phenomenal money and maybe the next week things are down a bit. But, it all evens out somewhat, and at the end of the day, there are a lot of bloggers who do earn an excellent income.

Bloggers normally have multiple income streams as this will help to provide a safety net of sorts. If one income stream is down for the week.. maybe another income stream is bringing in more than usual.

Having said that, let’s take a look at the most popular ways bloggers make money.

    1) MOST BLOGGERS MAKE MONEY WITH AFFILIATE MARKETING:

One of the best ways.. and the most common way for bloggers to earn money is through Affiliate Marketing. It’s a fairly straightforward process; when someone clicks on the blogger’s referral link and makes a purchase, the company will pay the blogger a commission for referring that customer to their online store.

For example, if the person buys something expensive, such as a new laptop computer or other technological device, then the blogger’s earnings will certainly be higher than if they referred the buyer to Amazon where the buyer purchased a pair of earrings.

The affiliate marketers who are the most successful are those who recommend only products they have used themselves or are familiar with and can therefore assure their visitors it is a purchase they can make with confidence.

Some bloggers are only interested in their commissions and recommend only the things that are the most expensive regardless of the reputation of the products.

This normally backfires as the blogger winds up getting a reputation as someone who shows a lack of concern for his visitors and whose recommendations cannot be trusted.

After all, part of gaining a reputation for being a good blogger is keeping your readers in mind and doing what’s in their best interest. If you can earn your visitors’ trust they will return again and again.

    2) SOME BLOGGERS MAKE MONEY SELLING DIGITAL PRODUCTS:

Another way bloggers can generate income is by creating and selling digital products. This can include planners, journals, notebooks, eBooks, templates and any number of other downloadable products, which can then be printed by the buyer.

By leveraging their expertise and providing valuable resources, bloggers can attract customers and earn revenue. The advantage of digital products is that they can be created once and sold repeatedly, making them a scalable passive income stream.

    3) OTHERS MAKE MONEY SELLING PHYSICAL PRODUCTS:

One of the highest percentages of ROI (return on Investment) that bloggers can get is from selling products. The key is to choose products that are related to their blog niche, that their audience will be interested in, and that they can actually sell and ship or have drop shipped.

If they have a fashion blog, for example, they may sell handbags, scarves, accessories, etc. My daughter actually had an online handbag store and was able to purchase some things directly from the manufacturers at wholesale.

For those companies that will not sell to small businesses.. Coach, Michael Kors, etc. she watched for sales at Macy’s, picked things up on sale, and resold them on her website. She normally made anywhere from $20 to $50 profit on each of the products.

She also offered smaller items.. purse holders, key chains, costume jewelry, bracelets, earrings, etc. All of these things were purchased from China.

The profits on these items were not as much as selling a handbag.. but it provided more products which means more pages on the website and many more opportunities to get people to the site.

These additional types of inexpensive items can also be used as freebies to throw in as an incentive to purchase a more expensive product.

    4) A LOT OF BLOGGERS MAKE MONEY WITH SPONSORED POSTS:

Sponsored posts are a popular way for brands to connect with bloggers and the visitors to the blogger’s site. The brand pays the blogger to review and promote one of their products in exchange for access to the blogger’s audience.

As to how much a blogger is able charge for each sponsored post, the amount of traffic to the site will determine what their audience is worth. This, combined with how much the advertiser is willing to pay is something that can be negotiated.

It will also depend on whether the post includes an image or video component. Sponsored posts can average anywhere from $25 to $750 per post.

NOTE: Because these posts are paid, they must be marked as sponsored posts on the blogger’s site.

    5) HIGH TRAFFIC BLOGS CAN ALSO MAKE MONEY WITH AD REVENUE:

Ads are another common way for bloggers to earn money. In fact, once a blogger is approved for one of the better ad networks the ad revenue can easily become the primary income for many bloggers.

I am sure you have been to many websites where there are ads appearing after every few paragraphs.. as well as a few pop-ups here and there.

These advertisements, however, don’t necessarily have to be all in your face. Sometimes, you can find them discreetly placed on the side or at the bottom of the page.

As annoying as they might be at times, ads are how bloggers are able to spend their time writing high-quality content for their websites. No one could afford to spend hours and hours working on their website if there was no income to compensate them for their time.

The great majority of bloggers use advertising networks such as Mediavine, Raptive, Ezoic or Monumetric. These networks are full-service ad revenue partners that will help you reach your ultimate revenue goals.

However, not just anyone can get into Mediavine or Raptive. A blogger must meet certain strict requirements in order to apply.

    Mediavine Qualifications:

    • Create original and unique content in any niche.
    • Have at least 50,000 sessions per month, according to Google Analytics.
    • Make sure their website design is compatible with Mediavine’s ad placements.

The reason behind these stringent requirements is for advertisers to know that the website traffic sent through Mediavine is active, high-quality, and worth investing in.

    * For the requirements of the other advertising networks.. check their website.

HOW DO BLOGGERS MAKE MONEY — CONCLUSION:

As you can see, there are numerous ways bloggers can earn money. All of them will require a lot of work and patience, but it will all be worth it in the end. The key is to experiment and find out what works best for you as an individual!

Although the money-making methods are endless, I’ve chosen five of the more common ones that bloggers use!
